Which vaccine are pharmacies giving?

Galluzzo's Chemist is currently offering the Moderna Vaccine in the COVID-19 booster vaccine program. 


I have booked my vaccine, what do I need to bring with me to my appointment?

You need to bring a photo identification (e.g. Driver's License, Passport) and your Medicare card (if you have one). It is also recommended to completed your pre-screening questions and consent form prior to your appointment to reduce wait times. There is a link in your booking confirmation email to complete these.

To keep you and our community safe, before and after vaccination, it is important that you continue to:
• stay 1.5 metres away from other people and avoid handshakes and contact with people outside your household
• stay home if you feel unwell and get tested for COVID-19. You must stay at home until your results come back
• wash your hands regularly with soap and water or use hand sanitiser
• always cough or sneeze into your arm or a tissue and put the tissue in the bin straight away

Please note you will be required to remain at the pharmacy 15 minutes after you have received your vaccination. 

 

Am I eligible to get my booster vaccine from a pharmacist?

Everyone in NSW are able receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster at community pharmacies from 18 years and older.

  • From January 2022, you are eligible if it has been at least 4 months from your second dose.
  • From February 2022, you are eligible if it has been at least 3 months from your second dose.

 

Everyone in NSW are able receive the initial Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at community pharmacies from 12 years and older

All is required is to have a photo identification, and for the patient to give informed consent to the pharmacist. 

You should speak to your GP if:
• you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• you had a previous allergc reaction to a COVID-19 vaccine or any other vaccine
• you received another vaccine within 7 days
• you have history of blood clots
• you have previously tested positive to COVID-19
• you are immunocompromised

You can use the COVID-19 vaccine side effects symptom checker if you have concerns about any symptoms after your vaccine. The checker is also available through the National Coronavirus Helpline, 1800 020 080, 24 hours a day.

 

I have made an appointment but now I am feeling unwell, can I still get the vaccine?

Please do not come to your vaccination appointment:
• if you are feeling unwell with fever, cough, runny nose or other symptoms that could be from COVID-19
• if you are waiting for COVID-19 test results, or have tested positive for COVID-19
• if you are a close contact of someone with COVID-19, or
• if you are in quarantine.

You should not leave your home. Give us a call on 02 9534 2000 to reschedule your vaccination.

 

I have made an appointment but now I have to isolate/in quarantine/ have tested positive for Covid-19, can I still get the vaccine?

Please do not come to your vaccination appointment:
• if you are feeling unwell with fever, cough, runny nose or other symptoms that could be from COVID-19
• if you are waiting for COVID-19 test results, or have tested positive for COVID-19
• if you are a close contact of someone with COVID-19, or
• if you are in quarantine.

I got my first vaccination somewhere else; can I get my booster through Galluzzo's Chemist now?

Yes, if you prefer to receive your booster dose at Galluzzo's Chemist you can book an appointment by using the link at the top of this page.

 

I recently had my influenza vaccination, when can I have my Covid vaccine?

The recommended minimum interval between COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca administration and the administration of other vaccines (including the influenza vaccine) is 7 days. (As per Australian Government Guidelines July 2021)

 

 

I got a vaccination at Galluzzo's Chemist, I would like a record of that vaccination.

We are connected with the Australian Immunisation Record. A record of your vaccination will be uploaded to your profile in 24-48 hours. Patients can view their vaccination record via:
• Medicare Online account
• Medicare Express Plus app
• myGov
• My Health Record.
